Mangi and his fiancé, Aza, have been living together in the Joburg suburb of Linden for the past eight years. One day while cleaning their bedroom, Mangi discovers a deep secret that his fiancé had been hiding for a long time. The house they had been renting for eight years belonged to Aza.

The uncovering of Aza's lie is the catalyst for the unraveling of their already tumultuous relationship. When Mangi loses his job, their relationship deteriorates rapidly, and eventually they break up. Mangi is left destitute and has to find inventive ways to make money. But how do you survive and find your meaning in the harsh streets of Joburg after losing everything that made you feel safe?
