Sy het aan die Noordwesuniversiteit ’n BA honneursgraad in Engels verwerf. Op universiteit reeds het sy geweet sy wil nie slegs die palet wees nie, maar eerder die verfkwas. Ná afloop van haar studies het sy die onderwys betree en daarna die korporatiewe sektor. Tans skryf sy en speel skooltaxi vir haar jongste seun. Sy woon in Bloemfontein saam met haar man en twee baie sportiewe seuns.
