They fall in love but love across the colour line is forbidden and in a night of turmoil they flee South Africa.

Emmy is the child they leave behind. She changes the lives of those who are inadvertently drawn into her world. Haunted by her past Emmy overcomes grief and tragedy to find the answers she seeks in a Post Apartheid South Africa.
